Win Sum Dim Sum is one of the recent slots announced by Microgaming, though if you go by its design you might not think it. Sporting a rather dated look and a limited number of paylines, only 9 available, this slot is inspired by the Dim Sum dish, a popular type of Chinese food.
If you’ve eaten Chinese food before, chances are that you know the dish, and you probably love it, as so many do. The game manages to offer a decent top jackpot, going as high as $75,000, even though the rest of the slot is somewhat disappointing.
What We Love
I will not mention the entire design on this list, but the symbols which have a good theme connection are generally well done. I’m talking about images of teapots, octopus with peppers and various other symbols which belong in Chinese restaurants.
The game will give the player two types of special symbols, one of them being the expanding wild, which is present on the 3rd reel. Regular wilds are used for the other reels of the slot.
You use a wild symbol as a substitute for another icon, as long as it’s a regular one, trying to form a combination but missing one of the ingredients. If the wild is properly placed, it will help out and you get your extra win.

A sack of flour was chosen to be the slot’s only scatter symbol. All you need, is for this symbol to show up in a few locations at the same time, even random ones, and you get your reward, which here would consist of 15 free spins. These spins get more expanding wilds, the middle three reels being now capable of receiving them.
I’d like to mention the top payout that is advertised by Microgaming, which is announced as being as high as $75,000. It’s not a bad jackpot to go after.
What We Do Not Like
The general design in use here is not that great, and there are a number of reasons for that. A big one would be the use of Royals, of playing cards which have a standard design.
A limited effort was made to improve them, but it consisted only in the addition of some small Chinese object next to them. Their look is the one you would see in dozens of other slot machines otherwise.
You also get only 9 lines, which should mean that it’s a game with big payouts, but which doesn’t pay often. The features don’t bring anything new to the table, to improve those prizes.
Worth Playing?
The game is rather average in most areas, and only the top payout might sound a little better. I wouldn’t really recommend it, unless you’re a big fan of Chinese cuisine.
