What We Love

The quality of the design is certainly visible, and you don’t have to look at it for long, before you figure out that its symbols are pleasant and excellently drawn.

Some of those symbols are indeed with poker cards, but relatively decent looking ones, while the others get images with soldiers of the time, with cannons and horses of the cavalry. The image of the Lion effigy and that of the wild logo are the ones which are used for the features. The background image will show us the battlefield, with abandoned objects shown in a corner. Overall, I’d have to say that the design of Poltava is one of the things that impressed me about this slot machine.

Poltava’s logo can be seen in the wild symbol, an icon which is used to replace others when appropriate, meaning that it both has to land in the correct position, and the rest of the symbols from the line need to be matching regulars. Wilds will not replace lion symbols, but that’s the only exception to their power. A wild symbol combo pays the highest amount possible in the game.

Second, we have a Lion effigy, a symbol which serves as a scatter. Should you land three or more of these Lions on the reels, you will notice that they turn into sticky wilds, and then they trigger for you a Flames of War feature, which includes 3 free spins.

What We Do Not Like

The game involves more than a few poker cards, and it’s not a particularly fun part of the design. Though created in an interesting font, they’re still poker cards and they don’t belong in a 18^th century themed slot machine.

Poltava delivers an interesting design, not to mention great features, but it fails in offering a big prize, something to really entice the players.
