Glow’s developer is called Net Entertainment, a company that is recognized for the quality of the games they put out. In this case, what you’re getting is a modern slot machine, with 5 reels/15 paylines, with free spins, wild symbols and multipliers, plus a theme which is especially visible in the background picture.
This theme is based on the beauty of the Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights. They’re typically seen at high latitudes, in the regions that one considers closer to the North Pole and which have long winters. There is also a certain Native influence on the theme, mostly seen in the animal totems which take about half of the positions on the paytable.
What We Love
For the most part, the design would fall into this category. Showing off a gorgeous animated image with the Northern Lights moving across the sky, Glow gets extra points for that part, but loses some of them because it also has playing cards among its symbols, and the way they are themed doesn’t seem to make much sense.
It wouldn’t feel like a real modern slot machine if it wouldn’t have a wild symbol in it. A 2x multiplier gets applied to the wins to which wild symbols contribute. The image that was picked in this case to act as the wild is that of the Bear Totem. Wilds don’t form their own combinations here, but they are very useful just the same.

The most surprising and fun feature that this game has comes from in the form of free spins. The fun part is not the fact that the spins are free, though that’s part of it I guess. Instead, it’s the way you get to trigger the free spins. Instead of doing it like in 99% of the other slot machines, requiring dedicated symbols to appear in scattered positions, Glow relies on animal totems which are regular symbols. You are offered between 1 and 5 free spins, whenever you have a winning combo forming on the reels, with animal symbols in it.
Retriggering free spins is even easier to do, as once you’re inside even the playing cards can form combinations which bring you additional rounds. All free spins have 2x multipliers to double their wins.
What We Do Not Like
Thanks in part to the below average number of lines, 15 being used, you don’t get wins as often as you might like in this slot. It’s much easier to trigger free spins than in other titles, and there are multipliers both from the wild and the free spins, but it still feels like you’re not winning enough.
Worth Playing?
It’s certainly going to be an interesting experience, and I believe that the thing that makes it worth playing is the free spins feature and the easy way you can get it to trigger.
