What We Love

As soon as the game loads, the first thing you will notice is how unusual the game looks like, at least when it comes to the things that it chooses to show you. If you look at the background picture, what you will find is a collection of giant chess pieces, presumably arranged on a chessboard, though you can’t actually see the battlefield.

The reels don’t have fixed positions or borders to hold them, sitting in mid air instead, allowing you to see what’s going on in the background. I loved the various characters which appear on the reels, like the two queens, the twins or Humpty Dumpty, but the game doesn’t have Alice as well, while sporting a few too many playing cards.

The scatter symbol, in this case represented by the image of the game logo, will only be used as a way for the game to trigger cash prizes, no other features coming from it. Get at least two of these logos, in whatever position they happen to land in, and you get a cash reward. The prize is worth anywhere between 2x and 50x the bet value.

A wild symbol is also part of the deal, and I enjoyed seeing it here since it not only acts as a substitute, but also doubles the wins it contributes to. This should apply to the top jackpot as well. Unfortunately, the wild appears only on the last four reels.

The most impressive feature here is called Clash of Queens Battle. Both Queens need to appear in order to trigger it, the Red Queen being on the 1st reel somewhere, while the White Queen is needed on the 5th. You have to pick which Queen you prefer, and a battle ensues. You get the feature of the queen you selected, and if she is the winner in the battle you get a small bonus as well.

The Red Queen will bring you 4 free games normally, but if she is also the winner of the battle it will go to 8 games. 1 to 3 wild reels appear during each round.

As for the White Queen, a picking bonus feature is offered in her case, and if she was the winner there is a 2x multiplier applied to all the wins.

What We Do Not Like

The payouts of up to 750 coins, which can double to 1,500 coins with the wild, seem very low for a game which uses bet lines, and not ways to win.

Worth Playing?

The game’s theme and the way it was implemented make it a worthy choice, and the features do help quite a bit as well. The top prize is the only one that’s giving me pause.
