Double Dragons is a game that appears to be based on the idea of two dragons that are opposites, one relying on fire, the other on ice.

Colored in red and blue, they are used as decorations at the top and to the sides of the reels, and they are even going to show up as symbols, along with others that aren’t nearly as interesting.

What We Love

One part that I’m impressed with in this game would be the graphics. It’s mostly about the surrounding graphics, than it is about the choice of icons, though there are good images in there as well.

The five reels have blue and red dragons surrounding them, metallic looking ones, but appropriate in this case. You get a cage of sorts on the left, which shows you the number of consecutive wins obtained through dropdown wins, while on the right you collect the Dragon Heads when they show up.

The symbols have the card suits as lower paying icons, plus four orbs which resemble the eyes of dragons.

An interesting side of Double Dragons is the system they call Dropdown Win, something you might’ve seen in other slots before.

Combinations formed will have their symbols taken away, new ones coming in to replace them and to hopefully give you extra wins during the same paid spin. You keep getting new sets of symbols until you no longer get a new win out of them.

If you happen to land four consecutive wins this way, you trigger a Double Dragons bonus, with two very tall stacks of wild symbols being added to the reels, to help you out further.

The two Dragon Head icons come in fire and ice varieties, colored in red and blue. The fire dragon adds 2 or 3 additional wilds to the reels. The ice dragon will use a multiplier of 2x for the dropdown wins.

Dragon Heads are always collected, and once you have 9 of the same type, you get 9 free games. Extra dragon wilds are added to the reels during free spins.

What We Do Not Like

They didn’t choose the symbols that well, and even though the dragon orbs might fit in, the card suits don’t belong in this game.

Worth Playing?

Double Dragons has impressive graphics mostly, along with features that you’re not going to see every day, but there are still things about it that could be improved.
