What We Love

By far, the slot’s best part would be the design of Grim Muerto. A very cool background is used behind the reels, an image in shades of brown, showing skulls, flowers and various other decorations. Among the symbols, you will get four happy mariachi, skeletons dressed as Mexican singers and using instruments that include a trumpet, an accordion, a violin and the classic guitar.

Even with the presence of the poker cards, this remains one of my favorite slot machines released lately.

A wild symbol may be used as a replacement when it comes to any regular symbol, if first it appears in a position where it can be of help that way. Matching symbols are needed already on that line, before the wild can do its magic. Wilds don’t replace scatters.

They can form combinations with other wilds, paying up to 1,000x.
You get one random reel with a highlighted background, each round. If the wild happens to appear on that reel, it will expand and give you a full reel wild.

A scatter symbol is also present, shown as a book with a skull on it. You get three of these, and you get paid 10x the bet and you trigger 10 free spins, where there are more highlighted reels. You have an extra wild symbol, chosen from one of the four mariachi, and you can retrigger 3 to 10 free spins when you have 1 to 3 Candle scatters in place.

What We Do Not Like

The downsides are classic ones, meaning the presence of poker cards among the symbols and the value of the top payouts you can get here.

Worth Playing?

Grim Muerto delivers what you’d expect from it, a high quality design and some decent features. It doesn’t have any big prizes to entice you with though.
