Jukepot’s creator is called NextGen, a developer that has quite a few good titles under their belt, and which did a good job in this case as well. The game offers ways to win and a theme which is related to the 50s and 60s, the early period of rock and roll.

The setting is in a diner of the time, with waitresses that sport the kind of hair they would’ve back in the day and with cool guys in leather jackets and almost Elvis like looks. Free spins, locked reels and wilds are all part of the action.

What We Love

I’ll start with the design, since they did such a good job with it. The background image shows off the inside of a diner in the 50s, pretty much empty at this point, the action taking place either during the day or at night (it varies).The Jukebox which served as inspiration for the slot’s name is also used as a support for the slot machine, replacing the usual look of a pub slot, which wouldn’t have worked anyway since this is a modern title.

The features are also interesting. The game offers wild symbols for one, and they will come in stacked and with a chance to take over up to three symbols on the reel. The only symbol for which a wild can’t substitute is a scatter, but it will work with all regular icons. Wilds are also capable of forming their own combos, paying as much as 500 coins.

From time to time, you will get a feature which puts a Hot Rod on the reels of the slot. The car will speed up and go through the reels, revealing a stack of wild symbols as it does so.

As you play the game, you will also get another random feature, one where adjacent reels can lock and spin together, revealing the same symbol on all the positions. It can happen for two to five reels.

Finally, there are free spins to be won in Jukepot. 10 free games can be won inside, and the locked reels feature is available during each round you go through.

What We Do Not Like

I didn’t find much to be unhappy about. The payouts in titles with ways to win aren’t that great, and Jukepot has this problem as well, but the 500 coins it gives away can be replicated multiple times during each round, especially since reels can lock together and display the same symbols.

Worth Playing?

I’ve enjoyed both the features and the graphics of Jukepot. The 50’s diners make for a good theme, and the developers did a decent job with the features they introduced, some of them quite rare even in modern slot machines.
