Multi-player Mermaids Millions is a version of the game with the same name, which is designed to be played by multiple real players together.
You get a bit more excitement out of the game when this happens, as you compete with others, and you also have a slot machine with payouts of up to $100,000 and with some interesting features. The same can’t be said about its design unfortunately. There are 5 reels in the game, with 25 paylines on each slot machine.

What We Love

First of all, we have the thing that sets this game apart from all others. It’s the multi-player aspect, which is quite unusual to find in a slot machine. A number of titles do exist out there that offer it, but not too many. You don’t actually get to play against other players, you just play at the same time as them. You do access the bonus feature together though, so at that point you will get a chance to do better than the other players, and win more money.

The image with Neptune on it is used by the game for the wild feature. This symbol has the ability to substitute for another icon, allowing you to complete wins when it lands in a position where it is needed. It can also offer payouts of its own, when it appears multiple times on the same line.

There is a Coin symbol as well in the slot, and it will act as a scatter, a symbol which can appear in any position on the reels, the important thing being that enough of them are in place.

You need at least three Coins to get paid and you can’t use wilds as substitutes where scatters are concerned. Getting two or more Coins on the reels will give you a bonus multiplier, which will come in handy when the feature starts. The bonus multiplier is at the same value as the number of coins used in the line bet (up to 20x).

You can keep getting bonus multipliers and accumulating them, until you finally get enough scattered Coins and you trigger the bonus game. All the players will use their accumulated bonus multipliers at that point. They pick one of the treasure chests visible on the screen, and the cash prize they find inside is multiplied by the number from the bonus multiplier.

What We Do Not Like

The quality of the design would be the main problem I have with this game. The slot is based on an old title from Microgaming, and they didn’t make it modern enough for the multi-player version.

They just took the old style graphics from the original Mermaids Millions, and used them pretty much as they were.

Worth Playing?

Multi-player titles bring a little bit more excitement to the game, so I think they’re worth pursuing.

They’re not offering as much multi-player action as you might expect if you played video games, and you still compete against the bank, not the other players, but it will be more fun than the regular version of Mermaids Millions.
