Nordic Heroes is the latest game to be released by IGT, and it offers players an experience which is themed around the Nords and the reputation that they’ve gained as hunters and warriors.

What We Love
The focus in the game is on the two heroes which fight for you, Thora being for the Forest of Fortune realm, while Ragnar is the hero that fights marine monsters in Sea of Glory. You start off with the forest mode and with a hero that’s at level 1, and as you play the game you can gain experience from the battle features and advance both the hero and the value of the prizes that you can accumulate along the way.
You are a Wanderer while at the first level, and in time you advance to Traveler, Explorer and so on, with the eighth level being called Champion. The increase in prize values happens when you’re at levels 2, 4, 6 and 8. All levels give your heroes additional advantages and weapons though, making it easier for them to finish off the monsters during the Battle Bonus, which in turn brings you more experience. Access to the sea realm is obtained when you reach level 5. The Ragnar hero is unlocked at level 3.

The game will present you with a wild symbol from time to time, with the WILD logo in it and with fire behind it. As a wild, the symbol can be the substitute that you need, but it can also be your way to the top jackpot. You get only 1,500 coins during the base game, or up to $150,000 if you wagered $100 for each payline. There is potential for more in the game though, the payouts increasing in value once you reach higher levels. There is a pretty long list of symbols which the wild can’t replace, but they’re mostly feature icons, or have monsters on them which the hero will fight.
The experience you gain in this game is obtained during the Battle Bonus features, which get triggered by their own symbol, the one marked Battle and with two crossed swords and a shield. The three scatter symbols have to appear on the 1st, 3rd and 5th reels.
A multiplier reel is especially fun when you can get it, multiplying the prize by as much as 30x.
