It all began with a 19^th century novel, written by Robert Louis Stevenson. In it, you could read about a doctor whose body was controlled at times by an evil side of him, and he tried to stop it with the help of potions.

He lost control in the end though, in part because the potion no longer worked as well, and in part because some key ingredients were no longer available. The game follows the two sides of that main character, and uses all sorts of people from the story for its symbols. This is a slot which gives you 25 paylines, 5 reels and a jackpot of $5,000.

What We Love

The design’s quality is quite good, as you will discover yourself when you play the game. It has an image in the background which shows you a simple wall, but all around the reels there is a green fog lifting that adds to the mystery element in this game.

The characters shown on the reels, along with the other themed symbols, look great, and I just wish that the same level of attention was paid to the poker letters, symbols which look the part somewhat, but I still would’ve preferred that they were replaced with something else.

An expanding wild is responsible for many of your wins, and it’s also the symbol that incorporates both Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. You get Dr. Jekyll when it’s a wild of a regular size, but if there is a chance to form a combination with the wild’s help, then it will turn into Mr. Hyde and it will cover the entire reel, expanding on it. These wilds are only given for the reels 2, 3 and 4.

3+ scatter symbols can bring you free spins. These are images of Green Potions, which appear in any location on the reels. You have a choice to make, between the spins governed by Jekyll, and the ones offered by Hyde.

Should you go with Jekyll’s Free Spins, you get increasing multipliers for the wild symbol, starting at 1x and going up to 5x. The Hyde Free Spins will simply turn high win symbols into wilds, one by one, as you advance in the feature.

Both types of free spins continue for as long as you have a potion bottle. It will empty with each scatter symbol that appears on the 5^th reel, and after four scatter hits the free spins end.

What We Do Not Like

The only big downside is the level of the prize, valued at 1,000x, meaning up to $5,000 only. The poker letters are also on my list of cons, but I can live with that part better than I can with the small prizes.

Worth Playing?

It’s not a bad game, and the features seem interesting, but to get a really good prize you need the 5x multipliers from the free spins.
