Theme of The Game

Seasons is all about nature and how its looks change from one season to the next. The four seasons get a lot of attention in this slot, and each one will come with its own advantages, in the form of wild symbols with special abilities.

The graphics will change as well, at least in the background, since the symbols remain the same. You will have rain, you will have sun and snow, along with different colors for the foliage and the ground. The season theme got some attention from other developers as well, but I think that Yggdrasil Gaming did the best job with it.

Developer

Yggdrasil Gaming has an interesting name, but one which is based on old Scandinavian mythology, borrowed from an old ash tree, a home both to dragons and eagles and a way to enter the nine mythical worlds.

How To Play It

The only decision that you can make is in regards to the coin value, with the range there being from $0.01 to $5. Otherwise, the number of lines is always 20, and this means that the total bet will be anywhere between $0.20 and $100.

I enjoyed the design of Seasons very much, both with its changing backgrounds and its symbols. The icons are all nature related, with forest fruits, pine cones, mushrooms and leaves being included. Even the four card suits icons are made out of leaves, so they don’t appear out of place.

Special Features

One of the things that defines this slot machine is the seasons feature, which will change the look of the game and some of its features, once every 10 paid spins. Besides the change in the look, you also get a different wild symbol for those spins. The season which is chosen gets selected at random, so it doesn’t follow the natural progression.

The part that is different feature wise is the wild symbol. The unique wild feature for Winter is the Hare, which will duplicate itself to a second location on the reels, chosen so that it brings you as good a win as possible.

The Owl wild is reserved for the Spring season, and it triggers a re-spin feature which continues for as long as this symbol is present on the reels. It moves by one spot in a random direction each round. The Deer wild is brought on by Summer, and it will expand in a cross like pattern, turning up to four other symbols into wilds.

During Autumn, you get a Fox wild. The game takes into consideration how many wilds are present on the reels, and applies a multiplier to all wins that are formed that round. It can be anywhere from 2x to 5x for one wild, or as much as 7x to 10x for five wilds present.

Besides the wilds, which will change with each season, the game also has a scatter symbol which can appear at any time, and which will trigger 7, 15 or 30 free games, with 3 to 5 symbols.

Maximum Payouts

The normal top payout would be at 1,000x, or $5,000. Since there are multipliers of up to 10x applied in the game, that value could go up to $50,000 instead.

Summary

I very much liked the graphics of Seasons, and I would play it for that part alone, but I’d recommend it for the features as well. You get plenty of variety from this slot, so you’re not going to get bored quickly.
