Theme of The Game

Queen of Riches is one of the latest slot machines to be released on the market, and surprisingly enough its inspiration comes from one of the most overused topics in the slot industry.

I’m talking about Ancient Egypt here, and the game even has a focus on Cleopatra, one of the most common niches among the slots which choose this topic. The game manages to be different and special through other means, but they have nothing to do with the design.

The symbols will include images of scarabs, of eagles, the Eye of Ra, pyramids and other related pictures, though they’re done more like logos than like the real thing. Unfortunately, poker cards aren’t missing from the game, and they can be seen on the reels quite often.

Developer

Big Time Gaming is the name of the slot’s creator. As a developer, it seems to be quite fond of the word Mega, using it for Megaways in Queen of Riches and in Dragon Born, and then having Mega Symbols in slots like Viking Quest.

They appear to be doing a great job with the features of the slots they put out, but they often fail where the graphics are concerned. They don’t manage to be too original with the themes they choose either.

How To Play It

The total stake varies between $0.20 and $40. In exchange, the slot gives you anywhere from a couple of hundred, to as many as 117,649 Megaways, for combinations to form on. The payouts multiply the total bet with whatever value you get from a combo.

The graphics are not special in any major way, though the themed symbols and background graphics are pleasant to look at. There are less appealing poker letters as well though, plus the betting area looks too dated.

Special Features

The Megaways are one of the major differentiators for this slot. You use these as ways to win, but you don’t know how many you’re getting each round. The slot uses 6 reels, with 1 to 7 symbols present on each one, the number being randomly picked. You can have one symbol if it’s a wild reel, otherwise you get between 2 and 7 icons. Since the number of the symbols can vary so much, you also get a big range for the Megaways, which go up to 117,649, but usually will offer you a couple of thousand ways to win.

As for the more regular features, you get a Full Reel Wild, which the slot can add to one of the last five reels. This wild reel will offer a multiplier as well, for the wins it helps you get, and it can be up to 7x. You can get multiple wilds and multipliers to help out, and the prize grows accordingly. For example, with two wild reels multiplying with 7x each one, the total multiplier is 49x.

The ability to clone reels will also come in handy, from time to time, but you don’t choose when. The feature will trigger at random, and will clone reels that are next to each other.

Maximum Payouts

The regular prizes offered in Queen of Riches will give you about 30 times the bet back, so $1,200. This can change quite a bit if there are multipliers from wild reels, especially if you get them at 49x or higher.

Summary

Queen of Riches will give you an excellent list of features and multipliers to improve the payouts, but it’s a shame that they chose such an uninspired theme for it.
