How to play

The developers tend to use the same slider-bar as the wagering menu in almost all their mobile slots. This is a doddle for players to use and can see them wagering anything from $0.20 per spin up to no more than $20 a game.

Features

Wild symbols: Players will find wild symbols in this game, and they pop up as golden coins with Pegasus imprinted on them. These symbols can substitute for other symbols. Wilds do not appear naturally on the reels. Instead, they only appear when the player already has a three-of-a-kind combo on the reels. This will trigger a re-spin feature, with each successive win (now that you have a wild, it is easier to pull off wins) offering multipliers.

Randomly triggered bonus: There are three of these up for grabs in this mobile slot, and they can only occur at random following a non-winning spin. Hades can decide to turn one instance of an icon into another to help you land a win. Poseidon can add a couple of wilds to the reels, and Zeus can destroy a surplus of symbols. Which feature you get depends on which god happens to be standing to the right of the reels at the time the feature is triggered.

Wrath of Olympus bonus: Players will note that they can fill up a Wrath of Olympus meter by landing combinations which features gods. Once the meter is full, a single free spin is offered to players. This spin, however, features all the gifts from the gods which normally occur as randomly triggered bonuses.

Free spin bonus: If players manage to clear the screen of symbols – a tall order by any stretch of the imagination – they will trigger a free spin bonus. There are 3 bonuses you could end up with. Hades offers 4 free spins, Poseidon offers 3 spins and Zeus dishes out 8 spins. Each free spin bonus comes with its own god feature (see above), and the chance to win between 2 and 20 more via the Wrath of Olympus meter.

Maximum payouts

Naturally, the payouts in this mobile slot were never going to scale the heights you can find if you were to win a progressive on Playtech’s Age of Gods series.

However, Play ‘n Go’s own crack at the Greek mythology genre isn’t a bad effort. Prizes can still be worth up to 50x your total bet, and at 96.5%, the RTP (return to player) rate in the game is dishy, too.

Summary

The Rise of Olympus slot isn’t quite as refined or as exciting as other Greek mythology-themed mobile slots, but it’s not a bad effort from its developers by any means.

There are plenty of features, crisp graphics and good gameplay. The only thing it is missing is slightly more rewarding cash prizes.
