Microgaming’s Diamond Empire mobile slot machine takes players back into a bygone era when one-armed bandits and classic slot machines reigned supreme.
However, if you were expecting a simple, single-line title, you’re in for a bit of a shock, as the developers have managed to merge the old with the new. Expect video slot features (at least some of them) to find their way into the gameplay of this mobile slot.
Microgaming already has a sublime selection of classic slots under their belt. Only a handful of these are primed for mobile gameplay, though, so perhaps that is why they felt they needed a modern, updated classic slot for their arsenal. Whatever the reason, the richness and elegance of this new mobile title certainly come to the forefront once you start spinning its reels.
How to play
Diamond Empire contains just 3 reels, as you will have guessed. However, there isn’t just a single line spanning those reels, as you might expect to find in a classic slot. Instead, this mobile-friendly release offers up 15 paylines, all of which are fixed into place.
Coin sizes can be raised from $0.01 up to $0.10, and as many as 10 coins can be wagered per line. At its cheapest, then, this game will cost just $0.15 a spin. If you’ve got cash to spare, you can splash out up to $15 a game on the mobile slot.

Wild multipliers: Despite this being a classic slot reimagined for a mobile casino world, there are a few special features worked into its design. For starters, wild symbols are the most valuable in the game. Not just because they offer decent prizes, but because they can double the value of any winning combo in which they play a part.
If two of them appear in a win, that combination has its value quadrupled. Land three and you can win the top prize. Given that wilds can appear stacked on the reels, too, there are plenty of ways to win, even in this 3-reel game.
Bonus symbols: Players will need to land all 3 of the mobile slot’s bonus icons on the reels if they wish to trigger the only feature in the game, known as the Wheel Bonus.
Wheel bonus: Once triggered, players will be invited to a single spin on the bonus wheel. At the very least, players are going to walk away with a petite cash prize. However, if they strike it lucky while spinning this bonus wheel, they could walk away with a top haul worth 888x their total bet.
There are two big prizes which players might consider non-progressive jackpots in this classic and mobile-friendly slot. The first of these is in the Wheel bonus, as mentioned.
However, since that is only triggerable via the bonus round, we must at least look at the one in the base game, which is capped at 650x your total stake. That means that the base game’s top prize is marginally smaller than that in the bonus round.
Of course, Diamond Empire isn’t going to appeal to everyone. No matter how many video slot features Microgaming have worked into this 3-reel mobile slot’s design, it is still, at the end of the day, a classic slot.
For some players, that just won’t do. However, if you do like to tinker with one-armed bandits from time to time, there is enough here to please you.
