Theme of The Game

Jekyll and Hyde is based on a novel from 1886, which was written by Robert Louis Stevenson. In this story, the author follows the investigation of a doctor, on a friend of his, going by the name of Dr. Jekyll.

He finds out that he has some sort of split personality, where he turns into an evil character at times, this new person going by the name of Mr. Hyde. Things don’t end too well for Dr. Jekyll, but the novel proved to be quite popular. This slot machine is inspired by that novel, as are a couple of other slot machines which have the same topic.

Symbols which were included in this game will give you the two sides of that main character, along with potions, objects from that era, and different men and women from the novel.

Developer

Ash Gaming is the creator of this particular slot machine, a developer that has been established in the year 2000. They don’t just make slots, they also create other casino games, including table games and video poker.

They have a decently sized collection of slot machines for the online market, which include titles like Firemen, Full Moon Fortunes or Life of Brian, to mention just a few of my favorites. They don’t necessarily pay great, but their features can often make up for the downsides.

How To Play It

You shouldn’t have much of an issue playing this game. It’s a standard gaming system, which employs 25 lines, and which allows the player to modify the line bet, nothing more. You can wager between $0.25 and $125 for each round of this game, where the line bet’s range would be from $0.01 to $5.

I enjoyed the graphics of Jekyll and Hyde quite a bit, mostly because of the dark atmosphere and the very well done themed symbols, which feature images of characters from the novel, along with some badly designed poker letters.

Special Features

A feature that you will enjoy is the expanding wild, whose image shows both sides of the same human. You have Jekyll for the regular wild version, the one that doesn’t form a combo because it didn’t land in the right position. If you get Hyde, that means that the symbol expanded to cover the reel, since it only does that when it can form a new combo. You get these wilds on the reels 2, 3 and 4.

Scatter symbols are present as well, and they are shown as Potion Bottles, colored in green. When at least three Potions appear scattered, free spins will be triggered, which will continue to run until you get four potions hitting the 5th reel. With each new scatter that appears on that reel, something will happen in the free spins, and you get closer to the end of the feature. Once you get four scatters there, the free spins end.

Two types of free games are awarded, the first one being based on Dr. Jekyll, using 1x to 5x multipliers for the wins obtained with the help of wilds. The second category offers Hyde spins, with some of the symbols turning into wilds as you progress in the free spins.

Maximum Payouts

The regular payouts are far from great, paying at most 1,000x, which could mean $5,000. Should the wilds help out during free spins, the prize can be increased to $25,000.

Summary

I wasn’t too happy when it came to prizes offered, but the features are intriguing, and the graphics tend to be a bonus for this slot as well.
