Created by Bluberi, James Win is the kind of slot machine that is inspired by secret agents, dangerous but good guys which use high tech gadgets, charm and copious amounts of booze in their attempts to save the world from villains.

With Martini cocktails, gadgets, binoculars and Aston Martin cars present among the symbols, it’s clear that the slot’s design is inspired by the James Bond franchise. There is even a triple 7 in the logo area, hinting at Agent 007.

Bluberi is a small company, which is based in Canada. You don’t have to find a casino that offers their games though, as James Win is available on the Quickfire instant play platform, which is used at Microgaming casinos.

They are better known for slot machines designed with land based casinos in mind, but they have about a dozen or so online games as well, releasing new ones on a regular basis. A couple of examples of slots that they offer include James Win and Pi-Rats.

How To Play It

Look at the middle of the bottom row, and on it you will discover the option to modify the coin size, which is also the line bet. The lines are fixed at 30, so 30 coins are part of each wager you make. The denomination of the coin being between $0.01 and $1, the total bet varies from $0.30 to $30.

The action takes place in London, the home of MI6, the secret agent’s employer. You have the House of Parliament on one side of the logo, with the London Bridge on the other. The symbols mix classics (a 7 with a Big Ben in it, card suits) with themed images (watches, James Win with a gun, a Lady Spy, the Villain and fast cars). It’s not a very good design, even though the theme is well chosen.

Special Features

One typical feature to get in any slot machine, and in this one as well, is the wild symbol. Shown as a Wild Logo, it has the power to substitute for another regular symbol, or to create a combo out of wilds alone. It will pay up to 250x with its own combo.

The scattered Binocular symbol is only allowed on the reels from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th columns. Should you land three of these scatters, at the same time, you can get 7 free spins from them.

The big payout of James Win will put 30,000 coins (up to $30,000) in your pocket, but only if you have the necessary symbols in all five positions, without any help from the wild. If a wild helps out, the payout for that combo drops to 250 coins.

Summary

I enjoyed some of the things which the game offers, like its theme, its features and even its top jackpot. The lower paying combinations don’t look that great though, plus the graphics could’ve been better done.
