Great 88 doesn’t really have a theme, being just a general Chinese inspired slot machine, which uses a number of entertainment related icons, along with others which are just showing off various symbols and writing from their language.

The slot’s title reflects the belief of the Chinese, that numbers hold special meaning, and that 8 is an especially lucky one. It’s not the first slot machine to be built around it, and it will not be the last.

What We Love

Betsoft is not a bad developer to go to, if you’re a fan of very well designed slot machines. The graphics are superb in this game, and I found myself enjoying the action, even though I’ve seen this sort of slot machine before, with similar symbols.

The elements which were included in this slot, as things that the Chinese are known for, include costumes of Lions or Dragons, gold coins, statues made out of jade, bamboo and boxes, plus a number of squares that have Chinese writing on them.

You’re going to find that the Firecrackers icon is one to watch out for. Capable of combining its own symbols into a prize, it awards the slot’s biggest prize this way.

The best payout it offers will give you 8,888 times the line bet back. Otherwise, you’re going to find it being a substitute in situations where it can lend a hand that way, but it’s not going to do it for the scattered Lucky Box.

Lucky Boxes are shown in the scatters of Great 88. Having a minimum of three in view will deliver you one of five types of features or rewards, picked at random.

What We Do Not Like

There has been a lot of effort that has gone into this slot machine, and I wanted something better from its theme, or at least some fresh angle that nobody else has for the Chinese topic.

Worth Playing?

I think that it’s worth pursuing. The theme aside, it’s a fun game, with good graphics and it can even pay very well.
