Glorious Empire Mobile Slot Review

glorious-empire-slot-logoAncient Rome was indeed a glorious civilization, and this slot machine recognizes that and tries to send the message across to you as well.

Glorious Empire is a game developed by NextGen Gaming, with a focus on things that are Roman in nature, from its soldiers to temples or an image of Rome itself, as shown in the picture from behind the reels.

I’ve seen enough beautiful decorations in the game, and pretty well presented, so overall I enjoyed its graphics.

The symbols are not all related, the game having its share of Royals, of poker cards with laurels chosen for their decorations. The others are the images of the Roman soldier, of a Roman woman, Pegasus, a helmet, a chariot, a Roman temple and a Lion Shield.

Developer

One of the companies which is now part of NYX Gaminga, together with NYX Interactive, NextGen is still a brand that launches slots under its own name, and it actually releases one or two on a monthly basis, being one of the more prolific developers these days.

Glorious Empire is just their latest title, but I’ve also seen games like Jackpot Jester Wild or Wild West released by them, to mention just a few.

How To Play It

The game seems capable of forming its combinations both ways, so the symbols can appear either starting from the left or the right. The requirement is to have 50 coins in the bet each round, enough to cover 40 lines and then some.

The line bet is the only part that you have access to, and can modify. You can have it at just $0.01, or you can increase it up to $10, in which case the bet would be worth $500.

The game interface is not really standard for the industry, but it is a regular one for NextGen. The bets are made from a section with coins that you can click on, turning them into gold when the value is higher.

Special Features

You don’t get much from this game that you couldn’t find somewhere else, especially feature wise. The wild symbol is the first one I’d like to mention, mainly because of the power it has to replace another symbol in a winning combo.

It can’t replace scatters, and its own payouts will go up to 250x at most. The image that you will see in it is that of a Lion Shield, with two swords with golden handles arranged in an X behind it.

The Temple scatter symbol is going to be used on all the reels, but it only starts helping out when you have a minimum of three, anywhere in view.

You get paid at that point, between 200 and 4,000 coins, plus you trigger 7, 10 or 15 free spins. Wild symbols which show up during free spins become sticky, and remain in that position until the feature is over.

Maximum Payouts

When it comes to big payouts, it’s the scattered Temple that seems to have the most to offer, up to 4,000 coins which should have a value of up to $40,000.

Summary

Glorious Empire doesn’t show a lot of imagination on NextGen’s part, not in this game at least, but it does make up for it with its graphics.
