The barren ice and snow covered area where the action takes place is likely from the South or North Pole, but there is no way to tell since you’re not going to find any animals on the reels.

The only thing that is different from other ice based games is the presence of those gemstones, but those are way too often selected for use in slot machines, so it’s not as much of a differentiator as I would’ve liked.

Rabcat is the company that has designed this slot machine, but you will find all their games, including Frozen Diamonds, at casinos which use the Quickfire platform from Microgaming. I’ve enjoyed most of the slots that this company has put out so far, especially the very complex Castle Builder.
Frozen Diamonds is on the simpler side of the spectrum, but can still be an enjoyable slot. The design is one thing you can always expect for these guys to get right, based on the 10 or so titles that they’ve released so far at least.
How To Play It
20 lines are used on 5 reels in Frozen Diamonds. You will have no option to change the number of active win lines, but you do decide what the line stake will be. It will be multiplied by 20, and this will be the total bet that you will use for each round.
The game relies on a mechanic with falling blocks of ice, which stack on top of each other in five columns, three blocks/symbols per column.
The design is pleasant, easy to play through, but the choice of symbols is not very inspired, since the only thing that sets them apart from other slots is the fact that they’re placed inside that ice.

Special Features
The feature that you’re most likely to recognize and immediately figure out, is the wild symbol. It’s a logo of the word WILD, with some kind of multi-colored gemstone behind it.
This is the only feature symbol of the game, and as a result there is no symbol that it can’t replace if this will lead to the formation of a new paying combo. It can even pay the big prize, being one of the two symbols which can offer 1,000 coins when five matching symbols are on a line.
The feature that is less common is the one the game calls Bonus Falls. It goes by other names in other slots, but the system is the same one, removing winning combinations from the screen and allowing other symbols to come in and replace them.
This can result in consecutive rounds with winning combinations in them, all of them triggered as part of the same initial paid spin.
Should you get three consecutive falls with wins in them, you will get access to 5 or 10 free spins, a randomly chosen number. There are extra features to be had inside. The first fall will bring with it a 3rd reel with 2 or 3 wilds on it. Starting with the second fall, there will be 3 wilds on that 3rd reel, with a 2x multiplier to double all wins.
Maximum Payouts
We’ve come to the part that I’m not satisfied with. Expect a prize of 1,000 coins if certain symbols align on a payline, which is not something to be amazed with.
Summary
Frozen Diamonds at the very least will give you a type of action that is not common, and a good design. The choice of theme and the payouts are another matter, and I’m not as happy with them.
