Frog Grog Mobile Slot Review

frog-grog-slot-logoI’ve found Frog Grog to be quite an enjoyable title, and a big reason for that was the use of a magic theme inside, but in a slightly different way then I’m used to seeing.

The focus is on a witch’s lab, the place where she creates her potions. The cauldron is a dead giveaway, but there are also spell books, potion bottles and a witch hat barely visible on a shelf.

Symbols are made to appear like they are in small cubicles on shelves, and the majority of them are going to look like bottles or jars that are filled with potions of various colors. Three symbols are slightly different, providing you with a Frog (the wild), a Moth and a Flower.

Developer

Thunderkick is one of the ambitious young companies that have managed to make an impression in the few short years since they were founded. They might not have a lot of games, just around 17 right now, but they are rising and they keep announcing new slots every month or two.

They innovate with the designs they put forward, something that is visible in slots like Sunny Scoops or Esqueleto Explosivo. Their slots are available on mobile devices and on PCs (instant play only, no software).

How To Play It

The wager you place is chosen from the Bet setting, found at the bottom. You are allowed to choose one of the predetermined bet values, which range from $0.10 to $100.

Whatever value you choose, the bet will be for all 23 lines available in the game, and the prizes will multiply the total directly, instead of bothering with individual lines.

It’s the standard Thunderkick look, and its various options look good in the era of mobile phones and tablets. The options are made in a way that makes them easy to touch, rather than click, so that’s why you choose the total bet value instead of clicking on an arrow multiple times in order to increase it.

Special Features

The Dropping Symbols feature is not an unusual one, and it’s been selected for a lot of slot machines, even if some will call it differently. It gets rid of the symbols which have already paid you by forming a new combination, and it brings new ones to replace them.

If luck is on your side, the new symbols will form other combinations, without needing you to trigger another paid spin. Symbols keep getting dropped this way, and you keep getting paid.

The thing is that the multiplier also goes up with each new round of dropped symbols. The first spin might pay just the base amount, but the second one pays 2x, the third one 3x, the fourth one 5x and from the fifth one forward prizes are worth 7x the usual value.

The only symbol to have a role in this game is the Frog. It is a wild symbol and it is going to be useful if you’re forming a combination with it.

It not only substitutes, but it also does another thing once you’re paid, removing symbols from the reels if they’re on the same column or row as it is. The dropping symbols feature kicks in at that point. The wild Frog also remains in its spot for as long as the current round is active.

A random feature, which might trigger during spins without wins in them, is the Mystery Game. Low paying symbols are removed from the reels by it, and based on how many of each type there are, you will get paid.

Maximum Payouts

The prizes will go up to $1,000, in exchange for a $100 wager, and the combo that does this will use the Moth symbol. The Dropping Symbols apply multipliers of up to 7x, so $7,000 is the most you can take home from a single combo.

Summary

Frog Grog is another good game to come out of Thunderkick, and as I do with most of their slots, I would recommend this one as well.
