Theme of The Game

As the name would tell you immediately, Book of Dead is inspired by the Ancient Egypt collection of texts that is often called by this name. The Ancient Egypt theme is the one that’s most obvious here, so it’s less about that book of funerary texts. A little bit of an adventure theme has also been introduced in the game, the name of its hero being Rich Wilde.

Besides our explorer, you’re going to notice on the reels all sorts of images of Egyptian gods, a pharaoh and the Book of Dead. The Riche Wilde theme has also been used in games that saw our explorer learn more about the Aztecs and about India.

Developer

Based in Sweden, Play’n’Go is not going to be the kind of developer that has hundreds of titles already released on the market. They have a relatively small collection to offer, but they do a pretty good job with the ones they have created so far. How To Play It

This being a mobile slot, you should have no problem playing it, as the number of betting options have been reduced to the bare minimum. Special Features

You will discover that the game does offer some very good features, despite the relatively low number of paylines (10), which might give you the idea that it’s a slot that keeps things very simple.

The free spins are clearly my favorites in this case. The trigger for them comes from the usual three scatter symbols which constitute the minimum requirement, though up to five can do this for you. The Book of Dead symbol is the chosen one, acting as the scatter and triggering 10 spins for free if you meet the requirements. The thing I really enjoyed about these free spins is that they have special expanding symbols, which can cover all the positions on the reels with the same icon, basically guaranteeing you 10 winning combinations when this happens.

Wild symbols are also part of the game, being the usual useful way of getting a combo formed when you have some of the required symbols, but you’re missing one that should be exactly where the wild is now located. The wild takes that role and the combo forms.

Maximum Payouts

Normally, the game will offer up to 5,000 coins in exchange for the best combo you can have on a payline, which would be formed out of five Rich Wilde symbols.

However, given the presence of the expanding symbols during the free spins, it’s not a stretch of the imagination that you could win that amount on all 10 paylines at the same time. According to the paytable, a maximum prize of $500,000 is possible in the game while in free spins mode.

Summary

The game has both some pros and cons. As a mobile slot, it’s going to be easy to play and quite fun if you manage to get into free spins mode.

I’m not a big fan of the Egyptian theme, it’s way too common these days and there is a lot of competition for it, but I did enjoy what the developer did with the free spins feature. I think you should give it a try if you’re playing mobile slot machines, it might surprise you.
