Bloopers

Theme of The Game

bloopers slot logoThe Hollywood movie theme that is used by Bloopers is quite common for slot machines, though the number of games that are based on this topic doesn’t go extremely high.

Most movie themed titles you will see these days are dated by now, so Bloopers has the advantage of the design quality, one of the best that I’ve seen lately. It has its fair share of downsides as well in this area, thanks mostly to the use of playing cards, but it also has good parts. The movie theme is mostly covered with two actors, a female and a male, the former a blonde in a red dress, while the latter is wearing a suit and has chiseled features.

Developer

Based in Sweden, ELK Studios has been founded in 2012, so they haven’t been around for a very long time. They have only a couple of games out right now, half a dozen or so, including Bloopers, along with DJ Wild, Electric SAM, The Lab, Champions Goal and Taco Brothers. The quality of the design, or at least the modern look, seems to be a common feature for all of them.

How To Play It

The slot is designed with mobile devices in mind, so there are fewer options on the screen. You will discover the betting area by clicking on the button hovering in the bottom left corner.

There, you will discover 12 different total bets, ranging from $0.25 to $100. All 243 ways to win will be active, no matter what bet value you pick. There are also Betting Strategies that you could employ, if you’re willing to let the slot adjust the wagers automatically, in order to try and maximize your chances of walking away with a profit.

The design quality is good, excellent even in most areas, and I’m mostly talking here about the look of the symbols which do belong in the movie industry. You have actors, film reels, Hollywood Boulevard stars and a few others. The less fun symbols, the playing cards, still look good, but the connection to the theme isn’t really there.

Special Features

Bloopers are special features in this game, cute characters which can appear on certain reels and which can bring you random wilds, expanding wilds, more free spins, symbol shuffles and falling symbols. They are available both during base game spins and free spins.

The logo symbol which is marked Wild Bloopers gets to act as a substitute, a symbol which has the ability to replace other symbols, as long as it’s present on the right reel. This game having ways to win, there is no need for a very specific location for the wild to be in, just for the right reel to host it. Wilds don’t replace scatters in this game.

Those scatters would be the symbols which have a Bonus Star on them, the only ones which don’t even care about the reels on which they appear, able to give you access to free spins when they occupy at least three positions somewhere. You have Active Bloopers on the last three reels, for the duration of these free spins.

Sticky Wilds are only offered for the duration of the free games, and they are reserved for the middle three reels. Whenever a Female Actor or Male Actor symbol appear on those three reels, they become sticky wilds, meaning that they remain in that spot until the free spins are over, and that for the duration they are able to substitute for others. You keep getting free games until all the positions of those three reels are taken over by sticky wilds. This could take a very long time, if you’re lucky.

Maximum Payouts

The big payout of the game will be at only $600, and to get there you have to wager $100 per spin. It’s an incredibly low top payout, and the biggest disappointment when it comes to this game.

Summary

If it wasn’t for that very low top jackpot, I would’ve definitely recommended Bloopers, a game with features which seem like a lot of fun, plus high quality graphics. Still, with all those features in place, the game manages to get a theoretical RTG of 96.1%, so it’s not all bad.
